Great value for the price

I was looking for an affordable way to introduce my son to coding and found CodeMonkey during their Cyber Monday deal. I got an annual subscription for the Beaver Achiever course at a really good discount, which made the decision easy. The content is well-structured and keeps him interested, which is key. For what I paid, it feels like I got a lot of educational content and entertainment. Definitely a smart purchase for a budget-conscious parent.

Absolutely love CodeMonkey!

CodeMonkey is fantastic! I signed up for the Python courses during their Back to School sale, and I'm so impressed with how they break down complex concepts into manageable, fun lessons. The interactive challenges really help solidify understanding. The platform is super intuitive, and I've already learned so much. I even tried out the Hour of Code activities with my younger cousins, and they had a blast. I'm definitely renewing my subscription next year and recommending this to all my friends with kids who want to learn coding!

Good learning platform

I purchased the Individual Student Plan for my 8-year-old and we've been using the Coding Adventure course. Ordering was straightforward on their website; I found the process easy to navigate. The course content itself is engaging, and my child picked up the block-based coding concepts quite quickly. I did have a question about progress tracking and used their online support, which responded within a day with a clear explanation. It works well on our old iPad too, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, a solid experience and good value for the content.

Fun for the kids

Got the Family Plan for my two kids last month, and they've been really into Game Builder. It's pretty cool how they're learning to make their own games without me having to do much. The interface is colorful and easy for them to use. I just signed them up and they've been going at it. No complaints here, it's been a smooth ride.

hey, was wondering if CodeMonkey is any good for really young kids? my son is just turning 5, seems a bit early for coding.

R Renee 2 months ago
My daughter started with them when she was 6, and it was perfect. I think they have stuff for 5-year-olds too, pretty basic drag-and-drop games to start.

Yeah, they have some block-based coding that's super beginner-friendly. No prior coding knowledge needed, they ease them into it.

Anyone know if you can actually use CodeMonkey on an iPad? My kids basically live on theirs.

P Paula 2 months ago
Yup, totally works on iPads. My niece uses it on her tablet all the time.

I've used it on a tablet, it's pretty responsive. Makes it easy for them to just tap and drag stuff.

Thinking about getting my school district on this. Do they offer free accounts for schools or is it always paid?

J Jared 2 months ago
It's not free for schools, but they do custom quotes for districts. Probably worth reaching out to their sales team.

Nah, schools usually pay, but they have different licensing and a teacher dashboard, curriculum stuff, etc. Way more than the home version.

Yeah, they offer a limited free trial. Good way to see if your kid likes it before buying.

Thinking of getting a family plan. Do they do any discounts for having multiple kids or anything like that?

A Andre 2 months ago
They definitely have family plans that are cheaper per kid than individual ones. Worth checking out their pricing page.

I got a multi-child discount last year, so yeah, they usually do. It's usually part of the family plan options.
